Fast Leatherworking levelling 1-450

This Leatherworking powerlevelling guide will show you the fastest and cheapest way how to level your Leatherworking skill up from 1 to 450. Leatherworking is best combined with Skinning because you’ll pick up the materials you need as you go. You can buy the materials at the Auction House, but you’ll need a good supply of gold to do so.

What you’ll need: 57 Ruined Leather Scrap, 80 Coarse Thread, 40 Light Hide, 40 Salt, 230 Light Leather, 310 Medium Leather, 105 Fine Thread, 10 Gray Dye, 30 Heavy Hide, 305 Heavy Leather, 20 Bolt Of Silk Cloth, 385 Thick Leather, 150 Silken Thread, 455 Rugged Leather, 40 Black Dye, 40 Rune Thread, 100 Knothide Leather Scraps, 518 Knothide Leather, 28 Fel Scale, 1908 Borean Leather, 13 Jormungar Scale, 10 Arctic Fur, 10 Nerubian Chitin or 10 Icy Dragonscale, 5 Frozen Orb

First, visit any trainer in the capital cities of Azeroth (Darnassus, Ironforge, Stormwind) and learn Apprentice Leatherworking. If you can’t find a trainer, just ask a guard, and they’ll give you directions and mark it on your map.

Skill level 1-20
19 x [Light Leather] - 57 Ruined Leather Scraps

Skill level 20-30
10 x [Light Armor Kit] - 10 Light Leather
If you can’t find any Ruined Leather Scraps, you can make these from the very start.

Skill level 30-35
5 x [Handstitched Leather Cloak] - 10 Light Leather, 5 Coarse Thread

Skill level 35-65
40 x [Cured Light Hide] - 40 Light Hide, 40 Salt
Hang onto these as you’ll need them to make other items later.

Next, head back to your trainer and learn Journeyman Leatherworking.

Skill level 65-85
20 x [Embossed Leather Gloves] - 60 Light Leather, 40 Coarse Thread

Skill level 85-110
25 x [Fine Leather Belt] - 150 Light Leather, 50 Coarse Thread

Skill level 110-115
5 x [Medium Armor Kit] - 20 Medium Leather, 5 Coarse Thread

Skill level 115-125
10 x [Dark Leather Boots] - 40 Medium Leather, 20 Fine Thread

Skill level 125-135
10 x [Dark Leather Cloak] - 80 Medium Leather, 10 Fine Thread, 10 Gray Dye

Next it’s time to head back for more training. Learn Expert Leatherworking.
Skill level 135-145
10 x [Toughened Leather Armor] - 100 Medium Leather, 20 Cured Light Hides, 20 Fine Thread

Skill level 145-150
5 x [Hillman's Leather Gloves] - 70 Medium Leather, 20 Fine Thread

Skill level 150-165
30 x [Cured Heavy Hide] - 30 Heavy Hide
Again, you’ll need these later to make other items with, so don’t get rid of them! You may find you’ll level all the way to 170 with these, so you might be able to skip the next part.

Skill level 165-170
5 x [Heavy Armor Kit] - 25 Heavy Leather

Skill level 170-180
10 x [Guardian Pants] - 120 Heavy Leather, 20 Bolts of Silk Cloth

Skill level 180-190
10 x [Barbaric Shoulders] - 80 Heavy Leather, 10 Cured Heavy Hide

Skill level 190-210
20 x [Guardian Gloves] - 80 Heavy Leather, 20 Cured Heavy Hide, 20 Silken Thread

More training, this time you’ll need to learn Artisan Leatherworking.

Skill level 210-235
35 x [Nightscape Headband] - 175 Thick Leather, 70 Silken Thread

When you hit 225 skill and get to level 40, you’ll be able to do a series of quests which will allow you to specialise in various types of armour. Unfortunately, only you can use these – they can’t be sold or traded. Elemental Leatherworking focuses on melee leather items which grant extra agility and attack power. Dragonscale Leatherworking produces mail items for both casters and melee. Tribal Leatherworking items are healing-focused leather pieces.

Skill level 235-250
15 x [Nightscape Pants] - 210 Thick Leather, 60 Silken Thread

Skill level 250-260
15 x [Rugged Armor Kit] - 75 Rugged Leather

Skill level 260-275
15 x [Wicked Leather Gauntlets] - 120 Rugged Leather, 15 Black Dye, 15 Rune Thread
Buy the pattern for this from this NPC
If you can buy Heavy Scorpid Scale at the Auction House cheaper than Rugged Leather, you could make:
15 x [Heavy Scorpid Bracers] - 60 Rugged Leather, 60 Heavy Scorpid Scale, 15 Rune Thread
Buy the pattern here

You’ve now done all Azeroth can offer Leatherworkers: go to Outland and learn Master Leatherworking from a trainer.

Skill level 275-285
10 x [Wicked Leather Bracers] - 80 Rugged Leather, 10 Black Dye, 10 Rune Thread
If Essence of Water is cheap on the Auction House, you could make [Frostsaber Boots] instead.
Skill level 285-300
15 x [Wicked Leather Headband] - 180 Rugged Leather, 15 Black Dye, 15 Rune Thread

Skill level 300-310
20 x [Knothide Leather] - 100 Knothide Leather Scraps

Skill level 310-325
25 x [Knothide Armor Kit] - 100 Knothide Leather

Skill level 325-330
7 x [Heavy Knothide Leather] - 35 Knothide Leather - Recipe Location

Skill level 330-340

Skill level 340-350
10 x [Scaled Draenic Boots] - 168 Knothide Leather, 28 Fel Scales, 42 Rune Thread
You’ll probably need more than 10 of these as the skill turns yellow at 345.

At this point, it’s time to leave Outland and head to Northrend to learn Grand Master Leatherworking from a trainer.

Skill level 350-380
33 x [Borean Armor Kit] - 132 Borean Leather

Skill level 380-385
5 x [Arctic Gloves] - 40 Borean Leather

Skill level 385-390
5 x [Iceborne Shoulderpads] - 50 Borean Leather

Skill level 390-405

13 x [Jormungar Leg Armor] - 65 Heavy Borean Leather, 13 Jormungar Scale

Skill level 415-420
5 x [Pack of Endless Pockets] - 40 Heavy Borean Leather

You’ll need to buy the next two patterns from Braeg Stoutbeard in Dalaran for 3 Heavy Borean Leather each.

Skill level 420-425
5 x [Overcast Bracers] - 40 Heavy Borean Leather, 5 Eternal Water

Skill level 425-435
13 x [Overcast Handwraps] - 130 Heavy Borean Leather, 13 Eternal Water

Skill level 435-440
[Frosthide Leg Armor] - 10 Arctic Fur, 10 Nerubian Chitin, 5 Frozen Orb
or
[Icescale Leg Armor] - 10 Arctic Fur, 10 Icy Dragonscale, 5 Frozen Orb

Skill level 440+
Past here, there’s little point in levelling, but you could keep on making the high-end recipes as you’ll sell them at the Auction House. Either way – congratulations, you’ve maxed your leatherworking!
